My Prayer for Day 5 of 40
Most Gracious Heavenly Father,
I love You more than I show, less than I should and just enough to know how much You love me. I can’t count the times You have been there to rescue me from my mess-ups. I can’t count the times that You have taken my shame and not only made me a better, stronger man, but also You turned it into a testimony that gave You Glory and also helped someone else realize that they are not alone in their own struggles. Lord, to me, that Glory and the chance to help someone else is only a fraction of what I believe I owe You for saving my life. Lord, and because I do realize Your hand on my life I chose to give You mine. Thank You for taking my life, redeeming it more than I could have ever imagined and using it for Your purpose. Lord, You didn’t stop there, You chose to sacrifice Your Sons life for mine, so that I could spend eternity with You. I can’t thank You enough or even measure a ounce of love that I have for You compared to how much love You have shown in my life. But, the more and more I get to know You the more I love You! With that said, Lord, open the eyes of America to some of the same insights You have shown me in and about my life. Anyone can see that You took individuals out of the tyranny of the Roman Empire and chose to make something GREAT! You made AMERICA!! If we all truly step back, there is no doubt that You have had Your hand on this country since You conceived it. The amazing thing is everyone knew it too and always gave You credit for it. Our great country has forgotten this and my heart hurts to see how far we have run from You. But, Lord, it does kind of remind me of myself as to how many times I acknowledged You for saving me from my mess-ups, but then, when things were better I said thanks, but I got it from here. Lord, I realize now that it is impossible to do it on my own without You. Please help our country realize that very same thing. We were all made to need You. Whether, its as a individual, a family, a church, a community, a city, a state or even a country. We need You! I finally realized it after years of stubbornness which caused me to fall harder and harder until I finally caved. Lord, help our country realize that we can’t live without You before it falls to its knees as well. Not all people have to go through what I did in order to surrender their life and their will over to Your purpose and I pray that our great country won’t as well. Wake up America before its to late and we lose everything, but Father God, I will say that if it takes loosing everything like I did, it is still worth it, so if it takes that for America it will be for the good as well. Thanks for making such a great country and thanks for NEVER giving up on us ALL. Each and EVERY one! In Jesus name I pray,
