My Prayer for Day 8 of 40
Most Gracious Heavenly Father,
Thank You for another day. I thank You for this evening where we had the chance to gather with family and friends and enjoy a cookout. We had great fellowship and You were the center of our conversation. We got to enjoy so many things that so many in other countries do not get the opportunity to do. We thank You for that. Lord, we are in an important time for our country. We are in a transition period that will determine our future and our kids’ future. Help us make the right decisions. Help our leaders to make the right choices as well. It is a great freedom to have different opinions on how we should run this country, but not woking together causes things to get worse. We need a unified election this year. We need the government, the media and so many more, including the church to stop focusing on the flaws of the opposing politician, but instead focus on You. If we would agree on that then all other things would be possible through You. Prepare our hearts and minds for our election day, and I pray that everyone who votes seeks Your counsel first. We need Your guidance because we are divided. We need unity in order to fix the mess we are in. I know we have done this to ourselves and mostly because we stepped away from You. Confront our hearts and our intentions. Show us who You would have as our next President and give us the confidence that You will clear the path for our country in order to be the best it can be again. In Jesus’ name I pray,
Amen
